GOOD START TO BSU BULLDOGS OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD SEASON
COMPLETE RESULTS

(CONWAY, S.C.)  The 2009 Outdoor Track and Field season got off to a good start for Bowie State's Bulldogs as they participated in the Shamrock Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina University.  Even though there were no team results several BSU student-athletes performed well.  Bowie State's 4x100 Meter Relay (42.71), 4x400 Meter Relay (3:19.14) and 4x800 Meter Relay (7:57.77) "A" squads placed 9th, 7th and 5th respectively.  On an individual basis, Devin Richards (Baltimore, MD, Baltimore Polytechnic) placed 4th in the Long Jump (6.32m) to go along with a 14th place finish in the Triple Jump (12.84m) and Aaron Johnson (Oxon Hill, MD, Oxon Hill) placed 5th in the High Jump (2.05m).

Sean Johnson (Oxon Hill, MD, Oxon Hill) came home with a 4th place finish in the Triple Jump (14.27m) and an 11th place finish in the Long Jump (6.47m).  Santiago Ennis was 11th in the 200 Meter Dash (22.00) and Jamin Gallman (Baltimore, MD, Baltimore Polytechnic) along with David Rustin (Laurel, MD, Laural) placed 11th and 13th respectively in the 400 Meter Dash with times of 49.52 and 49.81.

(CHARLOTTE, NC)  Bowie State freshman William Bailey (Upper Marlboro, MD, Bowie) wrapped up his first season with the Bulldogs with a seventh place finish in the Long Jump (7.40m / 24-03.50) at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.

(NEW ORLEANS, La – May 24, 2010) The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Monday winners of USTFCCCA Region Athletes and Coaches of the Year honors for the 2010 Outdoor Track & Field season in Division II as voted by the division’s coaches. Of those honored, Bowie State University’s William Bailey was named Atlantic Region Field Athlete of the Year.

(DOVER, Del.)  The Bulldogs wrapped up their regular season with a ninth place (15 points) finish in the men's division at the Delaware State University Invitational.

COMPLETE RESULTS

(BALTIMORE, Md.)  The Bowie State Univesity men's track and field team placed sixth overall at the Coppin State University Eagle Twilight event with a score of 36 points.  Top finishers for the Bulldogs include first place finishes by William Bailey and Collen Cumberbatch and third and fourth place finishes by Alonzo Williams and the 4x100 Meter Relay team.

(ETTRICK, Va.)  The 2010 CIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships concluded today with Bowie State's women placing second overall and the men coming in third.  BSU's Lakesha Carney (Hampton, VA, Denbigh) was selected field MVP.

(CHARLOTTE, N.C.)  There were several individual highlights worth mentioning in Bowie State University's final outdoor meet before the conference championships.  The Lady Bulldogs were led by John'Ne Allen Davis and Lakesha Carney (Hampton, VA, Denbigh) while William Bailey, Jamin Gallman (Baltimore, MD, Baltimore Polytechnic) and Collen Cumberbatch paced the Bulldogs.
