TEAM RESULTS           INDIVIDUAL RESULTS

(NAGS HEAD, NC)  The Bowie State University bowling team opened their 2009-2010 season at the Beach Open hosted by Elizabeth City State University.  BSU's Lady Bulldogs returned home with a second place finish and junior Verra Diggs (Fort Washington, MD, Oxon Hill, Hampton Univ.) was named the events MVP.

Saint Peter's College placed first followed by Bowie State and host Elizabeth City State rounded out the top three in the Championship Bracket.

Bowie State lost its first match of the weekend, falling to Elizabeth City State 982 to 841.  Bowie State regrouped versus Saint Paul's College, beating the Lady Tigers 915 to 846.  The Lady Bulldogs won back-to-back games versus Howard University, defeating the Lady Bison 828 to 768 and 856 to 740.  Bowie State wrapped up day one taking a 859 to 842 decision over Hampton University.  

Individually for the lady Bulldogs, Diggs rolled a high-series of 1001, averaging 200 over the three-day event.  Junior Rebecca Frusciante (Mahopac, NY, Mahopac) averaged 195 and finished the weekend with 979 total pins.  Fellow juniors Tycora Brown (Pocomoke City, MD, Pocomoke) and Dominique Carroll (Bowie, MD, Bowie) recorded total pins of 924 and 875 respectively and sophomore Asola Ashiru (Lanham, MD, Parkdale) rounded out Bowie State's participants with 520 total pins.

Overall, Bowie State ended the weekend with a 8 and 5 record and will return to the lanes Friday, November 13 - Sunday, November 15 at Elizabeth City State University.

(DURHAM, N.C.) Bowie State University defeated Elizabeth City State University 4-2 to capture the 2010 CIAA Women's Bowling Championship at the AMP University Lanes. This marks the third time the conference crown comes to BSU with the Lady Bulldogs, claiming back-to-back titles in 2005 and 2006.

(DURHAM, N.C.)  Bowie State Lady Bulldogs bowling is third after day one of the CIAA Championships at AMF University Lane.  All-CIAA Bowler Verra Diggs (Fort Washington, MD, Oxon Hill, Hampton Univ.) of Bowie State led all bowlers with a 203 average in five matches including back-to-back scores of over 200.

(LAUREL, Md.)  Bowie State University finished ninth overall in its 19 team Fred E. Underwood Lady Bulldogs Classic held at the AMF Laurel Lanes.  Junior Tycora Brown (Pocomoke City, MD, Pocomoke) led Bowie State with 1,016 total pins, rolling a high-game of 265 and wrapped up the weekend event ninth overall among all bowlers.
