BOWIE STATE WINS EASTERN DIVISION THREE-WAY TIEBREAKER
Bulldogs To Face Fayetteville State Broncos for 2009 CIAA Championship

(HAMPTON, Va.)  The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association conducted its three-way tiebreaker this afternoon to determine the Eastern Divisional title and contender against Fayetteville State University for the CIAA Football Championship Game.

The accounting firm of Cavanaugh and Nelson administered the coin toss tiebreaker, where the three contending Athletic Directors simultaneously flipped coins; where the Bowie State Interim AD, Arlene Creek, flipped a tail versus two heads tossed by Virginia Union and Elizabeth City State.

The Bowie State Bulldogs (5-2 CIAA; 6-4) will now face the Broncos of Fayetteville State (6-1 CIAA;7-3) at the CIAA Football Championship Game on November 7, 2009, Durham County Stadium, Durham, NC; 1:00pm.

(DURHAM, N.C.) As the case for much of the season, Fayetteville State University found a way to win late in the game, beating Bowie State University 21-10 to capture the 2009 CIAA Football Championship on Saturday before a capacity crowd of 7,532 at Durham County Memorial Stadium.
