2007 BSU FOOTBALL EARLY SIGNEES
Bowie State University head football coach Michael Lynn, Jr. announced the signing of 10 high school prospects after National Signing Day.

Overall, the class included three (3) offensive lineman, one (1) wide receiver, one (1) running back, three (3) defensive backs, one (1) linebacker and one (1) kicker/punter.

Jerome Baskerville OL 6’2’’ 305 lbs
Edmondson H.S., Baltimore, MD

Starting offensive guard on 2A Maryland State Champs. Team finished the season 13-1. Second Team All-Baltimore City and Honorable Mention Small School All-State.

Dean Boateng WR 6’1’ 180 lbs
Northwest H.S., Germantown, MD

First Team Big School All State and All-League (Montgomery County). Also, Honorable Mention All-Met Wide Receiver. Finished the season with 875 receiving yards on 42 receptions with 8 TDs. Averaged 20.8 yards per reception.

Joe Goins CB 6’1’’ 175 lbs
DeMatha H.S., Hyattsville, MD

Honorable Mention All-Met Defensive Back and First Team All-WCAC. Helped DeMatha to an undefeated season and their 4th straight WCAC Crown.

Dante Hinton CB 6’1’’ 185 lbs
C.H. Flowers H.S., Springdale, MD

Big, strong CB who helped his team to an undefeated regular season and the Prince George County 4A County Championship. Selected to Second-Team P.G. All Gazette.

Kyle Jackson LB 6’2’’ 220 lbs
Edmondson H.S., Baltimore, MD

First-Team All-State Consensus and Baltimore All-Metro. The leading tackler for the Class 2A state finalist Red Storm, Jackson had 22 tackles for lost yardage, 11 deflected passes and 10 sacks. The senior also had four interceptions - one of which he returned 87 yards for a touchdown - and caused two fumbles.

Has a 295-pound bench press and clocked a 4.6-second 40 yard dash.
Sterling Jones DB 5’9’’ 185 lbs
Edmondson H.S., Baltimore, MD

First-Team All State Small School and Baltimore All-Metro. Jones ranked as the Red Storm's second-leading tackler and perhaps its most devastating hitter. The 5-foot-9, 185-pound senior made 19 tackles for lost yardage, deflected 16 passes, had six interceptions and caused four fumbles - recovering three.

Tariq Jones RB 5’9’’ 175 lbs
Edmondson H.S., Baltimore, MD

Starting running back on 2A Maryland State Champs. First Team All-State Small School and Second-Team Baltimore All-Metro. Rushed for 308 yards and 3 TDs in their state championship win of McDonough H.S. Rushed for 1,951 yards and 16 TDs on the season.

Johnathan Mason OL 6’3’’ 330 lbs
Edmondson H.S., Baltimore, MD

Massive offensive lineman helped pave the way for a potent offensive attack. Playing center, Mason anchored a strong offensive line performance that helped the Red Storm to an 11-game winning streak and the Class 2A state title, 37-9 over McDonough of Charles County.

Potomac H.S., Oxon Hill, Maryland

Kicked for the Braves “2004” and “2005” Maryland 2A State Championship teams. Selected to First-Team All State Small School in “2006”. Selected as First-Team Prince George’s County All-League as a sophomore and junior. Also, as a junior, he was selected as All-Met Honorable Mention.

Starting offensive guard on 2A Maryland State Champs. First team All-State Small School, Baltimore All-Metro and Baltimore All-City.
