LADY BULLDOGS BOWLING PLACES 5th AT CIAA ROUND-UP

Freshman Shayla Lightfoot Paces Lady Bulldogs With 173.25 Average
(CHARLOTTE, N.C.)  Competing in their seventh event of the season, the Bowie State University Lady Bulldogs bowling team placed 5th overall out of 13 teams at the CIAA Round-Up hosted by Johnson C. Smith.  COMPLETE RESULTS

Fayetteville State University claimed the top spot with a three-day record of 15-3.  Virginia State University placed second with a 13-5 record and Winston-Salem State University was third with an identical 13-5 record.  Elizabeth City State University and Bowie State rounded out the top five with identical 12-6 records.  Elizabeth City State had a total pin count of 12,593 and the Lady Bulldogs finished the weekend with 12,350 total pins.

St. Augustine's College finished 6th, followed by Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, Virginia Union University, Chowan University, Livingstone College, Johnson, C. Smith University and Shaw University.

Freshman Shayla Lightfoot led the Lady Bulldogs with a 173.25 average which included a team-high game of 205.  Junior Quinn Armstrong and freshman Ashanti Moore ranked second and third respectively in team average with 156.58 and 156.33.

Freshman Ambrianna Bankston wrapped up the weekend with a 155.50 average and sophomore Cherelle Coombs averaged 114.92.

The Lady Bulldogs return the lanes Saturday, February 18th and Sunday, February 19th, taking part in the Morgan State University Collegiate Classic.
