FINAL CIAA REGULAR SEASON STATISTICS 

(HAMPTON, Va.) Bowie State University captured their fourth CIAA Eastern Division title by way of a tie-breaker with Elizabeth City State University and will enter the conference championships as the #1 seed for the East. The Lady Bulldogs finished the regular season with an identical 43-11 CIAA record with ECSU and a 52-11 record overall. BSU pulled ahead of ECSU in a tie-breaker matching total pins versus conference teams.

BSU’s Lady Bulldogs officially wrapped up the East title last weekend at the final CIAA Eastern Division event hosted by Bowie State. Junior Rebecca Frusciante (Mahopac, NY, Mahopac) led team with a high average of 189.90 and a high game of 248. Junior Dominique Carroll (Bowie, MD, Bowie) was second on the team, averaging 187.50 to go along with a high game of 215. Junior Tycora Brown (Pocomoke City, MD, Pocomoke) averaged 182.50 with a high game of 278. Junior Verra Diggs (Fort Washington, MD, Oxon Hill, Hampton Univ.) averaged 179.13 over the three-day weekend event and rolled a high game of 234. Diggs showed heart, bowling with a pulled thigh muscle.

The CIAA Women's Bowling Championship will be held in Durham, North Carolina at the Durham AMF Lanes- March 20-22, 2010.

All-Conference honors have also been given; based on the Top 10 player averages in the conference.

Fayetteville State and Bowie State load the team with four and three players, respectively. Elizabeth City State, Fayetteville State and Livingstone College also earned spots on the squad.

(DURHAM, N.C.)  Bowie State Lady Bulldogs bowling is third after day one of the CIAA Championships at AMF University Lane.  All-CIAA Bowler Verra Diggs (Fort Washington, MD, Oxon Hill, Hampton Univ.) of Bowie State led all bowlers with a 203 average in five matches including back-to-back scores of over 200.

Underwood Lady Bulldogs Classic held at the AMF Laurel Lanes.  Junior Tycora Brown (Pocomoke City, MD, Pocomoke) led Bowie State with 1,016 total pins, rolling a high-game of 265 and wrapped up the weekend event ninth overall among all bowlers.
