(RALEIGH, NC)  Fayetteville State finished the weekend-long CIAA Bowling Roundup in first place with both the best record and most total pins. Bowie State finished second in the 12-team field which competed at the AMF Capital Lanes.

Over the three days, FSU finished with a 16-2 record and 14,909 pins. Bowie State finished in second with a 15-3 record, and Elizabeth City State was third, finishing 14-4. Shaw finished in seventh with a 7-11 record.

FSU’s Jessica Styers finished as the top individual bowler with a 188.6 average over 12 games. Bowie State junior Tycora Brown (Pocomoke City, MD, Pocomoke) finished in second with a 185.33 average.

Bowie State University captured their fourth CIAA Eastern Division title by way of a tie-breaker with Elizabeth City State University and will enter the conference championships as the #1 seed for the East.  Juniors Verra Diggs (Fort Washington, MD, Oxon Hill, Hampton Univ.), Tycora Brown (Pocomoke City, MD, Pocomoke) and Rebecca Frusciante (Mahopac, NY, Mahopac) named to All-Conference Team.

(LAUREL, Md.)  Bowie State University finished ninth overall in its 19 team Fred E. Underwood Lady Bulldogs Classic held at the AMF Laurel Lanes.  Junior Tycora Brown (Pocomoke City, MD, Pocomoke) led Bowie State with 1,016 total pins, rolling a high-game of 265 and wrapped up the weekend event ninth overall among all bowlers.

TEAM RESULTS           INDIVIDUAL RESULTS

(NAGS HEAD, NC)  The Bowie State University bowling team opend their 2009-2010 season at the Beach Open hosted by Elizabeth City State University.  BSU's Lady Bulldogs returned home with a second place finish and junior Verra Diggs (Fort Washington, MD, Oxon Hill, Hampton Univ.) was named the events MVP.

On the brink of elimination, Elizabeth City State University battled back to capture its first ever CIAA Women’s Bowling Championship Monday (March 23) at AMF Durham Lanes.  ECSU's Lady Vikings defeated the Bowie State University Lady Bulldogs 4-1 and 4-0 in the double elimination finals..

(DURHAM, N.C.)  Tycora Brown (Pocomoke City, MD, Pocomoke) and Rebecca Frusciante (Mahopac, NY, Mahopac) of Bowie State University were selected to the 2009 All-CIAA Women's Bowling Team on Saturday (March 21) at AMF Durham Lanes.  Brown was also named the CIAA MVP.
