INDIANAPOLIS -- The NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Committee has released this week’s Division II women’s basketball regional rankings. The Bowie State University Lady Bulldogs dropped from sixth to eighth place in the Atlantic Region after falling in the CIAA Championship game. The Division II Women’s Basketball Championship selection show will be webcast on NCAA.com at 9 p.m. Eastern time - Sunday, March 7, expect for the West region, which will be announced Monday, March 8.

Bowie State senior Bianca Lee (Temple Hills, MD, Archbishop Carroll) led all players with a game-high 24 points and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Other BSU players joining Lee on the All-Tournament Team include junior Lakisha Walker (Baltimore, MD, St. Frances Academy) and sophomore Juliette Turner (Silver Spring, MD, John F. Kennedy).

Sophomore Juliette Turner (Silver Spring, MD, John F. Kennedy) led Bowie State with a career-high 17 points. Senior Bianca Lee (Temple Hills, MD, Archbishop Carroll) and junior Brittne Gowdy (Baltimore, MD, Milford Mill Academy) added 16 and 10 points respectively for BSU’s Lady Bulldogs. Virginia Union (7-18, 2-18 CIAA, 1-7 East) was led by Tonaye Smith with a game-high 18 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Bowie State goes into next weeks CIAA Tournament with a record of 16-7, 15-5 CIAA and 5-3 East.
