INDIVIDUAL RESULTS

(LAUREL, Md.)  Bowie State University finished ninth overall in its 19 team Fred E. Underwood Lady Bulldogs Classic held at the AMF Laurel Lanes.  Junior Tycora Brown (Pocomoke City, MD, Pocomoke) led Bowie State with 1,016 total pins, rolling a high-game of 265 and wrapped up the weekend event ninth overall among all bowlers.

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore took top honors, racking up 9,259 total pins.  Adelphi University was second with 8,641 total pins, Florida A&M University placed third (8,479 total pins), Morgan State University came in fourth (8,432 total pins) and St. Francis College finished fifth overall (8,410 total pins).  Saint Peters College came in sixth (8,392 total pins) followed by Norfolk State University in seventh (8,098 total pins), Hampton University was eighth (7,954 total pins), Bowie State and North Carolina A&T State University rounded out the top ten (7,468 total pins).

On an individual basis for Bowie State, juniors Rebecca Frusciante (Mahopac, NY, Mahopac) and Verra Diggs (Fort Washington, MD, Oxon Hill) knocked down 856 and 846 total pins respectively.  Junior Dominique Carroll (Bowie, MD, Bowie) tallied 809 total pins and freshmen Cherelle Coombs (Columbia, MD, Long Reach) along with Asola Ashiru (Lanham, MD, Parkdale) totaled 385 and 280 total pins.

(DURHAM, N.C.) Bowie State University defeated Elizabeth City State University 4-2 to capture the 2010 CIAA Women's Bowling Championship at the AMP University Lanes. This marks the third time the conference crown comes to BSU with the Lady Bulldogs, claiming back-to-back titles in 2005 and 2006.

(DURHAM, N.C.)  Bowie State Lady Bulldogs bowling is third after day one of the CIAA Championships at AMF University Lane.  All-CIAA Bowler Verra Diggs (Fort Washington, MD, Oxon Hill, Hampton Univ.) of Bowie State led all bowlers with a 203 average in five matches including back-to-back scores of over 200.
