FINAL RESULTS

(PRINCESS ANNE, Md.)  Competing in their third meet of the season, the Bowie State University men's cross country team finished tenth overall at the Cappy Anderson Invitational hosted by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES).

Princeton University was the overall winner with 29 points, followed by Saint Joseph's (38), University of Pittsburgh (84), Penn State (87), University of Maryland Baltimore County (119), Hampton University (169), Howard University (183), UMES (191), Morgan State (202), Bowie State (213) and Coppin State (225).

Bowie State's Daryl Sanders (Upper Marlboro, MD, DeMatha) finished 72nd overall with a time of 28:25.76 in the 8K event.  Joseph Philpot (Washington, DC, Wilson) placed 87th (29:57.74), Jamin Gallman (Baltimore, MD, Baltimore Polytechnic) was 92nd (31:57.31) and Bryon Lewis (Waldorf, MD, West Lake) followed in 93rd (32:20.37).  Walter Morton (Lanham, MD, DuVal) came in 95th overall (32:40.84) and Michael Wallace (Medford, NY) rounded out BSU's top five, crossing the finish line in 97th place (33:57.80).

Donn Cabral and Rob Speare of Princeton placed first and second overall in the women's division, clocking in with times of 25:13.49 and 25:13.51 respectively.  Kevin McDonnell and Kyle Murray of Saint Joseph's came in third and fourth and Vince McNally rounded out the fields top five.
