(BOWIE, Md.)  Bowie State's Daryl Sanders (Upper Marlboro, MD, DeMatha) crossed the finish line first to lead the Bulldogs to a first place finish in the Bowie State Cross Country Challenge.  Sanders clocked in with a time of 25:14 followed by Geofery Langat of Virginia Union in second (25:26) and Timothy Davidson of Virginia State was third (27:08).  Aron Christiansen of Washington Adventist University (formerly Columbia Union College) came in fourth overall (27:31) and BSU's Joseph Philpot (Washington, DC, Wilson) rounded out the top five (27:36).

In terms of team results, Virginia State placed second overall with 43 points, Washington Adventist University was third (79 points), St. Paul's College fourth (81 points) and Virginia Union placed fifth (82 points).

Other Bowie State individual honors include Jamin Gallman (Baltimore, MD, Baltimore Polytechnic) (sixth - 28:29), Damien Montgomery (Baltimore, MD, Woodlawn) (13th - 29:38) and Walter Morton (Lanham, MD, DuVal) (15th - 30:01).

The visitors top finishers include, VSU's Andres McIntyre was seventh with a time of 28:47, Brandon Allen was eighth with a time of 28:59, Eric Williamson was ninth in a time of 29:03 and Asteway Gass of St. Paul's rounded out the top ten with a time of 29:07. 

Bowie State returns to action - Saturday, September 19th traveling to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore to compete in the Cappy Anderson Invitational.
