(BOWIE, Md.)  Saint Augustine's College was no match for Bowie State in CIAA tennis action as the Lady Bulldogs breezed past the Lady Falcons 9-0.  It was the final home match for seniors Jessica Bond (Silver Spring, MD, John F. Kennedy / Emerson Preparatory School), Danielle Fields (Suitland, MD, Suitland) and Lydia Mahon (Hyattsville, MD, Prince George's CC).

Fields shoutout her #1 singles opponent (Brittany Shim) 6-0 and Bond also shutout her #5 opponent 6-0.  Kyara Lombre (Mitchellville, MD, C.H. Flowers) won the #2 singles 6-1 over Kira Edgehill of Saint Augustine's while Mahon came back to win #3 singles (6-8, 6-3 and 6-1), defeating Martinne Deronette.  Freshman Chelyce Fields (Suitland, MD, Suitland) dropped Tiana Morris 6-3 and 6-2 and Jasmine McNair (Germantown, MD, Seneca Valley) won #6 singles for Bowie State by default.

In doubles play, Danielle Fields and Mahon defeated Shim an Edgehill 6-1 and 6-3.  Chelyce Fields and Lombre took #2 doubles by the scores of 6-0 and 6-1.  Bowie State's Lady Bulldogs won #3 doubles by default.

Bowie State will close out the 2009 regular season with a April 11th conference match at Shaw University.
