Men's Outdoor Track and Field Bowie State Sports Information

BOWIE STATE'S AARON JOHNSON AND MICHELLE PALMER DO WELL AT PENN RELAYS

(PHILADELPHIA, Pa.)  The Bowie State University outdoor track and field teams began post conference competition this weekend at the Penn Relays at Franklyn Field located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. Sophomore Aaron Johnson (Temple Hills, MD, Oxon Hill) competed in College High Jump (Eastern Division) and placed second with a jump of 2.10m (6-10.75).  Johnson moved himself into fifth in the Division II High Jump rankings.

Bowie State 4x400 team consisting of Walter Morton (Lanham, MD, DuVal), Byron Lewis (Waldorf, MD, Westlake)Jamin Gallman (Baltimore, MD, Baltimore Polytechnic) and David Rustin (Laurel, MD, Laural) qualified for the Outdoor Nationals, just missing the plaque by one spot, crossing the finish line with a time of 3:14.81.  The men's 4x800 team was on a mission, in spite of missing a leg from the team that set a BSU record.  http://www.flotrack.org/videos/coverage/view_video/234918/173922

Freshman Michelle Palmer (Ft. Washington, MD, Oxon Hill) performed very well for the Lady Bulldogs.  Palmer participated in the women's 4x100, 4x200, 4x400 and Sprint Medley and according to Coach Latimer, was Bowie State's Outstanding Athletes on the women's side.

Bowie State returns to competition - Thursday, April 30th at the Liberty (University) Twilight Qualifier in Lynchburg, Va.
