(CONWAY, S.C.)  Lakisha Carney (Newport News, Va., Denbigh) placed 5th in the women's Discus (40.80m) and 7th in the Shot Put (12.53m) and teammate Angelique Henderson placed 9th overall in the Long Jump (4.83m) to lead BSU's Lady Bulldogs in the opening outdoor track and filed meet of the season hosted by Coastal Carolina University.

Other top finishers for Bowie State include Christina Rowles (Upper Marlboro, MD, Oxon Hill) in the High Jump (11th place - 1.50m), Elaine Rhoades (Norfolk, VA, Booker T. Washington) in the 100 Meter Hurdles (11th place - 15.34) and Alyce Harrell in the Discus (12th place - 32.99m).
