(HAMPTON, Va.) Shaw University extended Bowie State to a five set match before defeating the Lady Bulldogs 3-2 in Pool Play of the CIAA Championships. Bowie State loss by scores of 16-25, 25-17, 18-25, 25-18 and 13-15 to closeout the season with an overall record of 5-27.

Itumeleng Shadreck (Botswana Africa, East Chapel Hill, North Carolina Central) each recording 11 for the Lady Bulldogs.
Shaw was led by Sharetta Riggins with a match-high 15 kills. Monica Grimmage and Nikita Grant knocked down nine and eight kills respectively for the Lady Bears.
