(HAMPTON, Va.) The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) released the 2009 All-Rookie Team today and four Bowie State University Bulldogs highlight the team. Runningback Ramono Flowers (Largo, MD, Largo), quarterback Tyrae Reid, Jr. (Baltimore, MD, Baltimore Polytechnic) and Glen White (Charlotte Hall, MD, Chopticon) on offense and Special Teams player Gregory Jackson (Accokeek, MD, Gwynn Park) on defense.

Flowers, a 5-10, 187-pound redshirt freshman ranks second on the team in rushing yards with 395 on 56 carries and scored four touchdowns. Flowers rushed for over 100 yards three times during the 2009 regular season with his best production coming against Livingstone College. In that game, Flowers rushed for a season-high 146 yards and scored three touchdowns.

Reid, a 6-3, 175-pound true freshman started eight of 10 regular season games and leads Bowie State in passing with 567 yards, completing 51-of-90 passes. Reid’s best game of the year came against Fayetteville State when he threw for a 299 yards, completing 19-of-38 passes.

White, a 6-0, 265-pound redshirt freshman offensive lineman played in nine of 10 regular season games, starting three.

Jackson, a 5-10, 180-pound true freshman wide receiver, primarily plays on special teams and is often the first person down the field to make the tackle. Jackson has played in all 10 games to date and has accumulated 29 total tackles (22 solo and 7 assisted) and recovered one fumble for a touchdown.
