(BOWIE, Md.)  Goldey-Beacom College came into Bowie State University's A.C. Jordan Arena and beat the Lady Bulldogs 25-9, 25-17 and 25-12.  The loss dips the Bowie State record to 3-17 on the year but improves the Goldey-Beacom record to 7-13.

Kellyn Nolan led the Goldey-Beacon Lighning with a game-high 16 kills and added two service aces.  Monica Dempsey and Roni Shaner contributed a half dozen kills each while teammate AJ Hicks went to the floor to pick up a game-high 14 digs.

Bowie State was led by freshman Jasmine Nixon (Middletown, NY, Middletown) with six kills to go along with eight digs.  Senior Breaun Garner (Beltsville, MD, Northwestern) and junior JaTyra Heath (Federalsburg, MD, Colonel Richardson) accounted for five kills apiece and sophomore Joshlyn Eggleston (Joppa, MD, Joppatowne) knocked down three kills for the Lady Bulldogs.

Bowie State will travel across town this Saturday (10/10) to take on the Firebirds of the University of the District of Columbia.  Match time is 1 p.m. in UDC's Physical Activities Center.  Following that match, Bowie State will host conference foe St. Paul's College in a doubleheader - Wednesday, October 14th.  Match time for this rare volleyball doubleheader is 5 p.m. in BSU's A.C. Jordan Arena.
