KUTZTOWN DEFEATS BOWIE STATE IN LADY BULLDOGS HOME FINALE

(BOWIE, Md.) Playing their final home match of the season, Bowie State University lost a non-conference contest to Kutztown University of Pennsylvania 3-0. BSU's Lady Bulldogs fell by scores of 25-16, 25-10 and 25-15 to the Golden Bears.
Bowie State junior Ashley Robinson (Cleveland, OH, Shaker Heights) and freshman Jasmine Nixon (Middletown, NY, Middletown) led the Lady Bulldogs with six kills each. Sophomore Joshlyn Eggleston (Joppa, MD, Joppatowne) and senior Breaun Garner (Beltsville, MD, Northwestern) added three kills each and senior Itumeleng Shadreck (Botswana Africa, East Chapel Hill) along with freshman Symone' Jordan (Accokeek, MD, Gwynn Park) contributed a pair of kills apiece. Garner was also credited with a team-high seven digs and senior Lydia Mahon (Hyattsville, MD, Prince George's C.C.) picked up five digs.
Kutztown improved their record to to 13-10 and was led by Cali Snell with a match-high eight kills to go along with one service ace, two digs, one block solo and three block assists. Erin Kissling knocked down six kills and Katie Miller added another five fills.
Bowie State (5-23) will close out the 2009 regular season with a 7 p.m. road match at Lincoln University of Pennsylvania tomorrow (10/27).
