(WEST CHESTER, PA) Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania took just 45 minutes to sweep Bowie State University 3-0, winning by scores of 25-7, 25-14 and 25-6. Lock Haven, a member of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, improves their record to 25-5.
Juniors
Ashley Robinson (Cleveland, OH, Shaker Heights) and
JaTyra Heath (Federalsburg, MD, Colonel Richardson) led Bowie State with three kills each. Robinson also tied for team-high dig honors with senior
Itumeleng Shadreck (Botswana Africa, East Chapel Hill, North Carolina Central) with four. Senior
Breaun Garner (Beltsville, MD, Northwestern) and freshman
Jasmine Nixon (Middletown, NY, Middletown) added two kills each for the Lady Bulldogs.
Erin Walsh knocked down a match-high 15 kills for Lock Haven and Arlana Roland contributed eight kills in the win. Roland also added six digs, three service aces and two block assists.
Bowie State (5-21) plays the second of two matches later today, this time playing West Chester at 4 p.m.
