DAMON WILSON RECEIVES CIAA COACH OF THE WEEK HONORS

(HAMPTON, Va.) Bowie State University first year Head Football Coach Damon Wilson has been tabbed as the CIAA Coach of the Week. This marks the second time this season (Week 5) Wilson has received this honor.

BSU's Bulldogs shutout the Tigers of Saint Paul's College 14-0 and remain unbeaten in the CIAA at 5-0. The Homecoming victory also moved Bowie State one step closer to the conference's Eastern Division crown. Bowie State was predicted to finish seventh overall (fourth in the Eastern Division) in the CIAA at the 2009 Pre-Season Press Luncheon back in July.

Bowie State returns to action this Saturday, October 24th for a 1 p.m. nationally televised game against Virginia Union University on the Panthers Hovey Field.

BRONCOS RALLY TO WIN CIAA CROWN 21-10 OVER BOWIE STATE

(DURHAM, N.C.) As the case for much of the season, Fayetteville State University found a way to win late in the game, beating Bowie State University 21-10 to capture the 2009 CIAA Football Championship on Saturday before a capacity crowd of 7,532 at Durham County Memorial Stadium.
