WOMEN'S RESULTS vs. UNIVERSITY OF D.C.
(BOWIE, Md.) The University of the District of Columbia (21 points) took top honors in the Bowie State Homecoming Challenge. Bowie State University's Lady Bulldogs came in second overall (52 points) followed by St. Paul's College in third (65 points) and Columbia Union College finished in fourth (Did Not Finish).
UDC's Lady Firebirds were the top four finishers in the event with Stellah Sang first (19:07), Demia Franklin second (22:47), Kaneesha Hollis in third (22:49) and Maurisa Williams fourth (22:51.
Sophomore
Shamika Patton (Frederick, MD, Frederick) was the first Lady Bulldogs to finish the 5K race, placing 5th overall with a time of 22:56. Freshman
Michelle Palmer (Oxon Hill, MD, Oxon Hill) came in 7th with a time of 23:06. Senior
Tonya Walton (Indian Head, MD, Lackey) and freshman
Angelique Henderson (Largo) placed 12th and 13th respectively for Bowie State, clocking in at 26:03 and 26:35. Sophomore
Elaine Rhoades (Norfolk, VA, Booker T. Washington) rounded out Bowie State's scorers, placing 15th with a time 27:03.
Next up for BSU's Lady Bulldogs, the CIAA Cross Country Championships - October 23rd in Newport News, VA.
