MEN'S RESULTS vs. UNIVERSITY OF D.C.

(BOWIE, Md.) Bowie State University cross country hosted their final cross country meet of the season and placed second overall behind the University of the District of Columbia. The UDC Firebirds won BSU's Homecoming Challenge with 23 points followed by Bowie State's Bulldogs with 39 points.  St. Paul's College came in third and Columbia Union College placed fourth but did not score.

James Kichwen of the University of the District of Columbia placed first in the men's 8K event, crossing the finish line with a time of 27:03.  Bowie State University sophomore Daryl Sanders (Upper Marlboro, MD, DeMatha) placed second with a time of 27:16.  UDC's Justin Chemallan and Wilfred Chemallan crossed the finish in the third and fourth positions, clocking in at 27:38 and 27:48 respectively.  Aron Christensen of Columbia Union College rounded out the top five finishers with a time of 30:19.

Bowie State sophomore Damien Montgomery (Baltimore, MD, Woodlawn) finished 7th overall (30:27) followed by redshirt freshman Joshua Legare (Glen Burnie, MD, Antioch Christian School) in 8th (30:48).  Sophomore Malcolm Womack (Forestville, MD, Eleanor Roosevelt) crossed the finish line at the 31:45 mark to place 10th overall.

Other Bowie State finishers include freshman Santiago Ennis (12th - 32:26), freshman Michael Wallace (14th - 32:35), sophomore Walter Morton (Lanham, MD, DuVal) (15th - 33:25), senior David Rustin (Laurel, MD, Laurel) (19th - 35:29) and senior Joel Lavella (Hyattsville, MD, DeMatha) (21st - 41:59).

The next meet for Bowie State will be the CIAA Championships in Newport News, VA. - October 23rd.

(BOWIE, Md.)  The Bowie State University men's cross country team took first place honors in its own Homecoming Challenge with a score of 22 points.  Daryl Sanders (Upper Marlboro, MD, DeMatha) once again led the Bowie State Bulldogs men with a first place time of 26:14 over the 8K course.
