BULLDOGS CROSS COUNTRY PLACES 8th IN TOWSON INVITATIONAL
MEN'S FINAL RESULTS

(TOWSON, Md.)  It was an 8th place finish for the Bowie State University men's cross country team at the Towson University Invitational.  The University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) won the men's division (23 points) followed by Mount St. Mary's(64 points) and University of Albany (65 points) rounded out the top three.

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore placed 4th (129 points) followed by Delaware State University's men with a 5th place finish (129 points), Coppin State University in 6th (169 points), St. Peters in 7th (170 points) and Bowie State wrapped up the team scoring with 198 points.

Daryl Sanders (Upper Marlboro, MD, DeMatha) was the first Bowie State runner to cross the 8K finish line, coming in 30th with a time of 29:14.  BSU's Joseph Philpot (Washington, DC, Wilson) placed 50th overall (31:59), Damien Montgomery (Baltimore, MD, Woodlawn) was 52nd (32:17), Santiago Ennis placed 56th (33:32), Joseph Leqar  was 61st (34:52), Michael Wallace (Medford, NY) in 63rd (35:29), Walter Morton (Lanham, MD, DuVal) placed 65th overall (35:36), Malcolm Womack (Forestville, MD, Eleanor Roosevelt) in 68th (35:49), David Rustin (Laurel, MD, Laurel) was 71st (37:02) and Joel Lavella (Hyattsville, MD, DeMatha) rounded out Bowie State's scorers with an 84th place finish (43:38).

Bowie State returns to competition - Wednesday, October 8th hosting the BSU Homecoming Challenge.
