TRACK & FIELD COMBINES FOR 22 MEDALS AT LEROY T. WALKER INVITATIONAL

(DURHAM, NC)  Bowie State University placed second overall in terms of medal count at the LeRoy T. Walker Invitational hosted by North Carolina Central University.  The Lady Bulldogs return home with a total of 22 medals (9 Gold, 7 Silver and 6 Bronze).  Host North Carolina Central led all teams with 37 medals, followed BSU and Shaw University with 18 medals.

DaMara Parrish placed first in the Long Jump (1.70m) and first in the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 12.62.  Elaine Rhoades, Lakesha Carney, Christina Rowles and Nicole Robinson also had a first place finishes.  Rhoades won the 400 Meter Hurdles with a time of 1:05.52, Carney was tops in the Discus Throw (34.90m), Rowles placed first in the High Jump, going over the bar at 1.47m and Robinson took first in the 100 Meter Hurdles (15.69).

The Lady Bulldogs 4x100 Meter Relay "A" team came in second overall with a time of 49.10.
