MATCH RESULTS

(BOWIE, MD)  The Shaw Lady Bears defeated Bowie State's Lady Bulldogs 6-3 in CIAA tennis action.  The loss drops Bowie State's record to 2-5 overall AND 2-5 in the CIAA.

Senior Danielle Davis won her #5 Single's match, defeating Shaw's Jasmine Rivera 6-6 (7-3) and 6-0.  BSU senior Angelica Barrett defeated Kiara Henderson 5-3 in #6 Singles.  Bowie State's only other win versus Shaw came in the #3 Doubles.  Davis and junior Lydia Mahon took a 8-5 decision over Shaw's Rivera and Henderson.

In other action, Livia Oliveira of Shaw beat BSU freshman Kyara Lombre 6-2 and 6-0 in #1 Singles.  Juanique Thompson defeated Mahon in #2 Singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-1.  Freshman Erika Gadson was shutout at #3 Singles, falling 6-0 and 6-0 to Xania Steele of the Lady Bears.  Shaw's Kim Moore downed Bowie State's Marina Palma 6-2 and 6-0 at #4 Singles.  The Shaw combo of Oliveira and Thompson won #1 Doubles over the BSU duo of Jasmine McNair and Palma, winning 8-2 and Shaw U's Steele and Moore stopped Barrett and Lombre 8-1 to capture #2 Doubles.

Bowie State returns to action - Thursday, March 27th, hosting Shippensburg in a non-confernce doubleheader match at 3 p.m.
