BULLDOGS CAPTURE 22 MEDALS AT FIRST OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD EVENT

(DURHAM, NC)  Dion Rodriguez, Melvin Johnson, Jamin Gallman and Malcolm Womack led the Bowie State Bulldogs contigency as top finishers at the LeRoy T. Walker Invitational.  Rodriguez and Johnson went one and two in the 100 Meter Dash, clocking in at 11.23 and 11.79 respectively.  Gallman won the 400 Meter Dash (48.90) and Womack took top honors in the 400 Meter Hurdles (54.53). 

Christian Dixon came in second in the Javelin Throw with a heave of 36.00m and Franklin Robinson placed fifth in the same event with a throw of 29.70.  Devin Richards placed third in the Long Jump (2.00m) and Aaron Johnson placed third in the High Jump (1.93m).  Richards also had a fourth place finish in the Triple Jump (12.56m).  BSU's Sean Johnson had a second place finish in the Triple Jump (13.59m) and Daryl Sanders placed second in the 1500 Meter Run, coming in at 4:23.75.  Two other Bowie State student-athletes had top three finishes as Byron Lewis came in third in the 400 Meter Dash (50.47) and David Rustin also placed third  with a time of 1:58.32 in the 800 Meter Run

The Bulldogs 4x100 Meter Relay "A" team took second place in the event with a time of 42.56.
